Halcyon Software, a global leader in systems management software, has launched a new version of their HA-MX Monitor software for IBM customers using MIMIX for their high availability and business continuity strategy. HA-MX Monitor V11 allows IT staff to view and manage all MIMIX alerts from a single dashboard, or via their Apple and Android smartphones and tablet devices.
HA-MX Monitor V11 informs system administrators when MIMIX processes are not working as they should, alerting the IT team of any issues and if a problem remains unresolved for a period of time.
Key enhancements include integration into the Halcyon Enterprise Console, a centralized graphical user interface, which is now included in the software package and free mobile apps to provide full visibility and the capability to respond to situations when IT staff are away from their desks.
According to Donnie MacColl, Technical Director at Halcyon Software, "As businesses have evolved over the last decade by offering 24/7/365 operations, any interruption or downtime is costly, in terms of lost sales opportunities and customer satisfaction. Organizations need a high availability (HA) application running on their IBM Power Systems, such as MIMIX, which will allow instant 'switch over' to the replication of their production system, during unexpected downtime. Business continuity is, of course, crucial. But, in order to be confident that the replication of data is being carried out correctly and for complete contingency, the HA application needs to be monitored so that organizations are alerted to any issues, enabling them to be resolved as they occur. This absolutely ensures that a company's main production systems are always up-to-date, that data replication is being carried out as expected and that data integrity is not compromised."
MacColl added "Our product strategy is to ensure, where possible, that users can access their data from wherever they are in the world. With this new release of HA-MX for IBM Power Systems, and the centralized user interface with the mobile apps, we are making 'single point of access' a reality and enabling MIMIX users to save considerable time."
Customers already using Halcyon's HA-MX Monitor can upgrade to this latest release free of charge. It is available as a stand-alone option and it also integrates with Halcyon's IBM i monitoring suites, Levels 1-4. The Enterprise Console is included with HA-MX Monitor.
