inFORM Decisions, a leading provider of IBM i document management, payment automation and database modernization solutions, announces iDocs 6.60, a major release of its acclaimed iDocs product.

The latest release of iDocs, an IBM i native and IBM PureSystems Ready Document Management application (http://www.informdecisions.com/inform-decisions-and-ibm-puresystems/), features detailed improvements including the following:

  • Enhanced resolution and faster performance of COLOR IBM i native PDF document generation
  • Complex conditional mapping
  • GUI database mapping support
  • Dynamic library name support
  • Scalable barcode support
  • Support for double byte (or basically Asian characters)

"Support for double byte is a very unique and powerful capability for a number of our IBM i customers who are based out of, or work with, companies in the Pacific Rim," says Dan Forster, President of inFORM Decisions. “In addition, iDocs supports scalable barcodes and various OCR type fonts which in the past had to be a fixed size.”

Significant improvements were made to the User Menu to simplify setting up SmartRouting applications. SmartRouting is inFORM Decisions' module that decides how to deliver a page based on conditions in the spool file that the user defines. The enhancements allow SmartRouter to support multiple key fields with "and/or" conditions to select email, fax, printer output queues, etc. from an external database. This enhancement provides more flexibility as each document to be distributed (such as an invoice) can be emailed, faxed, printed, and/or distributed to any defined output queues. "The cost savings for implementing this with any document management system is significant," comments Forster.
