IBM Content Manager OnDemand for i V7.2 adds full text search, IBM Content Navigator support, IBM Navigator for i support, and other administrative enhancements.

IBM Content Manager OnDemand for i V7.2 is a high performance solution for enterprise report management. It incorporates features designed to help companies gain significant return on investment by transforming costly high-volume print output to electronic information capture and presentation in support of superior customer service.

Content Manager OnDemand for i V7.2 includes these enhancements:

    • Full text search: An optional feature that enables content that is not easily identified by regular indices to be quickly and efficiently stored and retrieved. Full text search creates an optimal index of all the words within a document, and enables rapid search and retrieval against that index. It works with IBM Content Navigator and customer-written applications.

    • IBM Content Navigator support has been added to enable IBM's strategic web client that replaces eClient and IBM Information Integrator for Content.

    • Password stash file support is added to the IBM i commands Add Report to OnDemand (ADDRPTOND), Start Monitor for OnDemand (STRMONOND), and Merge Spooled Files (MRGSPLFOND) to enable you to better comply with your corporate security requirements.

    • The Change Policy Level Date (CHGPLDOND) command now supports specification of a report ID (Load ID) to provide added storage management flexibility throughout the life of your data.

    • Archive Storage Manager reports are now stored in the System Log for easier access and long term archive choices.

    • Content Manager OnDemand component is now supported in IBM Navigator for i, the new browser-based interface for administering your IBM i system. The Content Manager OnDemand component supports all of the administrative tasks currently available in the OnDemand Archive plugin of System i Navigator, but requires no special software on the user's workstation.

    • The OS/400 Indexer now supports indexing up to 378 character wide spooled files to expand indexing capabilities for very wide reports.

    • Hold threshold support is added to the IBM i commands Start Disk Storage Management (STRDSMOND) and Remove Report from OnDemand (RMVRPTOND) to better manage your document storage requirements when using Enhanced Retention Management (optional feature).

    • Metadata fields are increased to 128 (from 32) so that documents may now be indexed with up to 128 metadata fields.

    • Database timestamp support eliminates internal Content Manager OnDemand date limitations.
