ProData Computer Services, Inc., makers of the flagship product DBU and long-time IBM i software vendor, announced today the new release of a powerful query language product that allows users to exploit the DB2 relational database.

The newest release of SQL/Pro is continuing to meet the demand of today's developers with improved interactive performance, additional SQL statement prompting and multi-language support. Statements can be executed in batch or interactively allowing output directed to a display, printer file or database file.

An enhanced history log is also featured in this release of SQL/Pro to keep a record of every statement executed. Users can browse thru the history to retrieve a statement to rerun, modify or create repeatable deployments. Another feature of the history log is a function that will create a subset with a user defined filter for advanced searching.

Other upgrades will allow for 132 column display and additional statement formatting using reserved keywords. Administrators will continue to have control of SQL/Pro user/group authorities to limit capabilities for SQL statements, services and commitment control.

SQL/Pro can be used in conjunction with SQL Audit which is now included at no charge. This powerful addition tracks and monitors all modifications made to any IBM i database using SQL.

With the addition of these features to SQL/Pro, ProData continues to offer high-quality, competitively priced products that loyal followers have come to expect. "We listen to our customers and give them the features they want", said Allen Hartley, owner and CEO of ProData. SQL/Pro 5.0 is designed to complement other ProData productivity utilities for the IBM i and can be packaged with ProData's many other programmer utilities.
