Applied Logic Corp., a developer of AS/400 productivity and security software, has announced new enhancements to Pro/Encrypt, its software solution for encrypting selected data released earlier this year. Without relying on specialized hardware, Pro/Encrypt allows System i data to be easily encrypted and decrypted using advanced encryption standard (AES) 128, 192, or 256 bit encryption. Strong encryption provided by Pro/Encrypt addresses potential liability issues and meets or exceeds applicable regulatory privacy standards, the company says.
Enhancements for Easy Encryption and Decryption
- A new product menu offers individual encryption and decryption options
- Save files can be individually encrypted and decrypted
- Specified libraries can be encrypted and decrypted
- Individual physical files can be encrypted and decrypted
- Encryption and decryption processes can be run interactively or from batch
- All encryption and decryption commands can run from within customer jobs
