Sycomp, a leading provider of innovative IT solutions, an IBM Premier Business Partner and participant in the IBM Business Partner Innovation Center (BPIC) Program, has announced the opening of an innovation center in Foster City, Calif. The state-of-the-art facility is intended to address the needs of clients who require complete solutions consisting of hardware, software, and services customized to meet their specific needs.

Showcasing a full range of IBM technologies and solutions, the innovation center is equipped with IBM System Storage, IBM BladeCenter, System x and System p, IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center, and IBM AIX Advanced Virtualization Suite, as well as leading-edge hardware and software technologies from other vendors. Pre- and post-sales services include product demonstrations and test drives, solution design consultation, proof-of-concept support, product installation and implementation assistance, training, education, and customized workshops.

"As part of the IBM BPIC program, this innovation center brings together complete solutions for small and medium businesses that helps them deliver value to their clients," said Neal Callahan, vice president, Systems and Technology Group Sales for IBM's Western Region. "Sycomp can now demonstrate its solutions and services in conjunction with the IBM products and technologies that underpin them, giving clients a one-stop-shop for all their business needs."

This innovation center provides an additional benefit to clients -- With all of the infrastructure required to replicate customer-specific production environments, the Innovation Center will allow Sycomp to demonstrate proposed solutions and provide customers with hands-on experience without the risks associated with introducing a new solution into an existing IT environment. For example, a recent visit to the center resulted in a complete technology refresh for one of its clients, Zappos, a major online retail vendor.

"Sycomp's investment in the innovation center keeps us at the forefront of emerging technologies, and reflects our strong commitment to providing our customers with the best available solutions," said Sycomp CEO, Michael Symons. "Visitors have the unique opportunity to see Sycomp solutions in action, and work side-by-side with the highly skilled, IBM-certified Sycomp team to develop, test, and validate best-in-breed solutions."
