Zobrist Consulting Group is pleased to announce its recognition for the launch of the new thenorthface.com Web site, featuring the first e-commerce store for outdoor equipment supplier The North Face . The site won Zobrist the IBM Leadership Award for "Best B2C Deployment in 2008."

The Zobrist team created a WebSphere 6.0 e-commerce/content site architecture to deliver an integrated brand experience on thenorthface.com. This task was challenging because the site features an unprecedented level of rich brand content such as product animations and video.

Zobrist communicated regularly with IBM, holding six system-assurance reviews over the course of the 18-month long project. "The hard work paid off," said David Privett, e-commerce senior solution specialist with IBM. "The new site is state-of-the art. When you can't actually be out skiing or climbing, it's the next best thing. Zobrist has helped The North Face create a site that will build long-lasting customer relationships." For this reason, along with the foundational excellence of the complex custom site, and the high degree of client satisfaction, IBM selected Zobrist for the "Best B2C Deployment" WebSphere Commerce Leadership Award.

"In conjunction with our agency partners, we've created a site that will enable The North Face's customers to easily and enjoyably shop for the gear they need," explains Teresa Zobrist, principal at Zobrist Consulting. "The new site will provide outdoor enthusiasts with inspiration to get outside, push their limits, and keep going back to thenorthface.com for motivation and gear."
