Ex IBM, Wang exec heads expansion of B2B solutions provider into EMEA markets.

DB Global Services announced today the expansion of its operational footprint into the UK and Western Europe with the selection of Global Partner Sales as its European agent for the company.  DB Global Services is a B2B solutions and services company.

Hugh Lawrenson, a principal in Global Partner Sales, and a veteran information technology sales and marketing executive, will lead the international program from his offices near Reading in the UK.  Lawrenson will play a key role in capturing business opportunities arising from an aging B2B technology infrastructure within companies participating in the supply chains supporting consumer and industrial products, according to DB Global Services.

Dennis Bonagura, president of DB Global Services, said, “The wave of EDI and integration software acquisition at the beginning of the century has left many organizations with systems now at the end of their lifecycle coupled with fixed IT staff and budget commitments to manage the day-to-day activities supporting inter-enterprise commerce. These important, but now routine, tasks can be achieved more economically with modern, automated, software, or a managed service solution, at the same time freeing up IT and budget resources for more strategic, revenue generating projects.”

Lawrenson, has a track record of success in helping mid-market companies address supply chain, B2B, and business integration challenges, said Bonagura. “He brings a wealth of sales and solution selling experience, along with in-depth geographical business understanding.  He is uniquely qualified to engage IT and business executives in many diverse markets throughout the EMEA countries,” said Bonagura.

Lawrenson has been a top sales and marketing executive at companies including IBM, Wang, and SeeBeyond.  He has held management posts in the EMEA region including Great Britain, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, and Belgium.
