System i Developer, the consortium of top educators on IBM i development technologies, today announces that it has expanded by 50% the conference room block at the Hotel Sofitel for the next RPG & DB2 Summit. Stronger-than-anticipated registration precipitated the increase in sleeping rooms for the conference, which will be held October 15-17 at the Hotel Sofitel in Minneapolis, MN.

In addition, the group increased the number of seats available in Susan Gantner's Hands-On RSE Workshop, which is being offered on Monday, October 14 as an optional pre-conference course. Eight seats remain in the 1-day workshop. Other pre-conference options for the Summit include Hands-On PHP Workshop with Mike Pavlak and a full-day SQL seminar comprising Foundations in SQL with Paul Tuohy in the morning and Take Your SQL to the Next Level with Kent Milligan in the afternoon.

"This is definitely a time when the Early Bird gets the RSE Workshop…literally," quips Jon Paris, partner at System i Developer. "These additional seats will go fast.

"We're actually seeing strong demand for the SQL seminars as well as RSE. But because the RSE Workshop is hands-on, we needed to ensure that we could guarantee additional instructor support to maintain the right student/teacher ratio before opening the course to more people.

"The Summit is known for its smaller, more personalized, interactive learning environment. That's what makes it so different and fun — for all of us instructors, too. We would cap registration before compromising that community feeling."
