Vision Solutions has announced the advancement of two key executives to provide additional focus on Europe and the Middle East, and introduce resources to increase IBM Power sales on IBM i and AIX platforms.

Mads Toubro is the new vice president of sales in Europe for Vision Solutions. In this position, Toubro will manage all sales and pre-sales activities for EMEA, as well as work closely with IBM to align its southwest and northeast integrated operating teams. Toubro's previous experience at Vision with global business development, and close working relationships with IBM executives, optimizes Vision's leadership strengths and positions the company for increased European sales opportunities during 2009, the company said.

"The existing opportunities in Europe's mature high availability and disaster recovery markets are incredibly exciting," Toubro said. "There are many open doors for Vision to provide functionality and continuous value to IBM i customers of all sizes, as well as grow business within the AIX marketplace," he said. Toubro will be located in Europe working closely with Vision's business partners throughout EMEA.

Mike Khattab is stepping in as Vision's vice president of sales for the organization's growth markets in EMEA. In this position, Khattab manages sales and pre-sales teams and works closely with IBM to align both companies' growth market strategies in emerging markets to capitalize on new business initiatives. Khattab, who has extensive high availably business and channel management experience, previously managed EMEA and Latin American sales activities and oversaw partner networks in more than 50 countries.

"There is a tremendous amount of business activity and growth in Europe and the Middle East, so I am looking forward to working with IBM and our shared business partners to grow Visions' emerging markets," said Khattab. "Our company and customers will benefit from this expanding market opportunity, so this is truly an exciting time for all of us."

Commenting on the expansion, Bob Johnson, Vision Solutions' senior vice president of sales for the Americas/EMEA, says, "Vision Solutions has built a large, loyal IBM i customer base in EMEA during the last two decades. Mads and Mike have played important roles in that effort. Both have tremendous versatility and talent that serves as a major advantage to our company as we expand our focus in these markets."
