Shield Advanced Solutions has announced V4.1 of its Receiver Apply Program (RAP), a high availability solution for the IBM i platform.

The new version includes Automated Object Replication and Job Queue Replication plus many enhanced features. Improvements include:

·         Automated Object Replication

·         Job Queue Content Replication

·         Active Job Snapshots

·         Enhanced Auditing (faster and more efficient)

·         Improved menus and status displays

·         Roll-up of all previous PTFs

·         Install Library support for the LICPGM (can be installed in user defined library)

"RAP is an affordable product that is fast and efficient," says Chris Hird, president of Shield Advanced Solutions. "Our prospects, however, wanted to see object replication included. This latest version removes the final obstacle preventing RAP being able to fully compete in the high availability arena."

RAP is the only high availability tool providing job queue replication, the company says. The new version is simple to use, and does not need specialists to install, according to Shield. The product uses IBM technology to its advantage, giving the user an efficient, affordable solution for data protection and disaster recovery, says Shield.

In the current climate IT dollars are being spent carefully. Shield continues to see an increased interest in RAP - an affordable HA solution. With processor-based pricing, RAP starts as low as $3,500. Annual maintenance agreements ensure customers stay up-to-the-minute with product enhancements.
