Townsend Security teams with Patriot Technologies to deliver FIPS 140-2 compliant encryption key management to federal government agencies.

Townsend Security today announced that the company’s Alliance Key Manager hardware security module (HSM) has been added to Patriot Technologies’ General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule (GS-35F-4363D), making the widely used encryption key management HSM accessible to government organizations. The addition of Alliance Key Manager to the GSA schedule helps to ensure that federal agencies have access to an affordable FIPS 140-2 compliant encryption key manager to help protect personally identifiable information (PII) and meet compliance requirements around protecting sensitive data, the company said.

Alliance Key Manager supports encryption keys in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, IBM DB2, MySQL, and other database applications. The HSM is FIPS 140-2 compliant and has been independently tested to meet security best practices. FIPS compliance is necessary for any cryptographic solution to be adopted by U.S. federal departments or agencies. Alliance Key Manager allows government agencies to properly manage their encryption keys while meeting government security requirements in less time and at a lower cost. Patriot Technologies is a trusted partner that provides Townsend Security with the necessary resources to help expand the deployment of the company's solutions within the public sector.

“We are glad to add Townsend Security encryption key management to our GSA contract of solutions,” said Bruce Tucker, president and founder of Patriot Technologies. “Federal customers are rapidly deploying new security solutions to protect sensitive data and the Townsend Security Alliance Key Manager is a critical component to any security strategy.”

“When you take solutions to the federal channel, you learn the value of having an experienced partner to help you through the process. Patriot Technologies brings years of experience in providing solutions to federal customers, and building solutions to government standards,” said Patrick Townsend, founder and CEO of Townsend Security. “We are looking forward to a productive relationship as we move our security products into this new channel.”

Alliance Key Manager is available for a free 30-day trial. Additionally, Townsend Security regularly conducts webinars on encryption key management and the most recent recording can be found here: http://bit.ly/LsRlg3.
