Twice-weekly video series offers practical PC security advice for the everyday user in an easy, entertaining style.

Threats from hackers and their malware continue to escalate, making it increasingly difficult for PC users to stay safe online. While there is an ever increasing number of PC security solutions on the market, a key responsibility of avoiding viruses, trojans, botnets, identity theft and other cyber-problems lies in the user himself. It's a fact that no single PC security solution can completely protect the user from falling prey to an Internet scam, or be effective if it or other programs on a computer are not updated. PC users need to take more responsibility for their own desktop security and general cyber-safety.

Really Simple Security is a twice-per-week Internet video series that will help PC users do just that. Each program is about a minute in length and presents a single cyber-security tip in an easily understandable and entertaining way. The programs are completely focused on strategies and practices for staying safe online; they do not promote Comodo's or any other vendor's security solutions.

"We couldn't help but notice that many times, people could have avoided getting hacked, scammed or infected with malware if they would have just followed some basic practices that we in the cyber-security space take for granted," said Bill Fallon, Comodo VP of Marketing. "We looked far and wide on the Internet for video series offering this sort of information in and couldn't find it, so we decided to have Comodo.TV produce it."

The following Really Simple Security episodes are already available:

  • How to Avoid Computer Viruses: Dangerous E-Mails
  • How to Avoid Wi-Fi Security Problems
  • How to Set Up a Strong and Memorable Password
  • How to Donate Safely to Haitian Earthquake Victims
  • How to Recognize an Internet Scam
  • How to Make Your PC More Secure - Install Those Updates!
  • Make sure it's Signed
  • What's That Green Browser Address Bar Mean?

These and two new videos per week can be seen on Really Simple Security's YouTube Channel, Facebook Fan Page (reallysimplesecurity) and Comodo.TV at http://www.comodo.tv/category/programs/smart-strategies/?ch=home-computing. Because new programs are being added every week, viewers are advised to subscribe to the series on their channel of choice. Really Simple Security programs are also available as a Podcast in the iTunes music store, listed under ComodoVision.
