CA, Inc.  today announced the immediate availability of its new CA Gateway Security r8.1, formerly known as the eTrust Secure Content Manager. The new product provides a unified gateway solution that helps organizations of any size avoid data confidentiality breaches. By capitalizing on existing features such as CA anti-spam engines and smart filter technology, CA Gateway Security r8.1 offers a multi-layered approach to data protection.

CA Gateway Security r8.1 helps protect businesses of any size by safeguarding against the outbound transmission of confidential information. The product, designed to secure, monitor, filter and block potential threats from messaging and Web traffic, facilitates security compliance and removes obstacles to employee productivity, which contributes to overall business continuity.

To stimulate enterprise awareness and manage employee online behavior, CA Gateway Security r8.1 provides customizable views into Internet activity, transmission of confidential data and unauthorized use of corporate equipment. With an Enhanced Active Directory feature, IT managers are able to facilitate policy enforcement and regulate compliance with security standards.

One of the first organizations to roll out the new gateway security solution was CA. Bill Taub, vice president of Global IT Security for CA noted, "The new CA Gateway Security r8.1 release has reduced our overall spam load by over 90 percent.
