In "Disappearing DDS Window Screens" (TechTalk, MC, February 1995), a Gotcha described calling an external RPG program that displays a window over a previously displayed screen format, erasing the original format unless the window display file has a dummy format with the Assume keyword.
I have found another solution that I feel is clearer. Code the window display format with the file level keyword USRDSPMGT. This keyword is not valid with subfiles.
