WorksRight Software has announced that its popular PER/ZIP4 address verification software has been recertified for CASS (Coding Accuracy Support System) processing by the U.S. Postal Service for the 2009/2010 cycle. PER/ZIP4 matches addresses to the national ZIP + 4 Postal database. This matching process allows ZIP codes,

ZIP + 4’s, and other mailing information to be verified, corrected, and updated.

PER/ZIP4 is used in mailing operations to insure that outgoing mail has accurate ZIP codes and is free of common mistakes in spelling and format.  Use of PER/ZIP4 for CASS certification is part of the process required to qualify for postage discounts.

PER/ZIP4 includes many standard features for which other vendors charge extra. PER/ZIP4’s features include a batch interface for processing complete files, an interactive interface for processing individual addresses, and an API interface for incorporating address standardization and validation into existing applications.  PER/ZIP4 also includes, at no extra charge, sample code demonstrating the printing of POSTNET and Intelligent Mail (IMB) bar codes.

Although PER/ZIP4 is intended as a tool for improving mailing efficiency, many companies also benefit from reduced charges from other carriers. Accurate addresses greatly reduce the number of “charge-backs” for invalid address information.
