IBM WebSphere Application Server Family Edition delivers new flexible deployment options to meet the changing needs of your enterprise.
IBM WebSphere Application Server family of products offers multiple configuration options and support for multiple business models and deployment platforms. It also supports a wide range of scenarios, from projects with no upfront budget, to simple administration of a single server environment, to a clustered, highly available, high-volume environment with Intelligent Management services.
The WebSphere Application Server Family Edition brings together the following key WebSphere Application Server products that are bundled under a common license entitlement.
- WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment, which includes the Network Deployment editions of both the full profile and Liberty profile application servers
- WebSphere Application Server, which includes the single server editions of both the full profile and Liberty profile application servers
- WebSphere Application Server Liberty Core
WebSphere Application Server Family Edition gives you the flexibility to deploy the application server edition that is specific to your business needs. It also allows you to easily adjust the mix of products deployed from the bundle as the needs of your business change.
The charge metric for the Family Edition bundle is Processor Value Unit (PVU). However, because the value provided by each product in this bundle is different, there are different relationships between a Family Edition PVU, and a PVU of each bundled product.
- One PVU of WebSphere Application Server Family Edition provides entitlement for one PVU of WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment. A purchase of 100 PVUs of Family Edition provides entitlement to deploy 100 PVUs of WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment.
- One PVU of WebSphere Application Server Family Edition provides entitlement for four PVUs of WebSphere Application Server. A purchase of 100 PVUs of Family Edition provides entitlement to deploy 400 PVUs of WebSphere Application Server.
- One PVU of WebSphere Application Server Family Edition provides entitlement for eight PVUs of WebSphere Application Server Liberty Core. A purchase of 100 PVUs of Family Edition provides entitlement to deploy 800 PVUs of WebSphere Application Server Liberty Core.
