Sirit Inc., a leading provider of radio frequency identification (RFID) solutions, has announced that a device agent for their INfinity 510 RFID readers is available for IBM's WebSphere RFID Premises Server, version 6.0. The Sirit Device Agent enables the seamless integration between RFID hardware and software infrastructure.

Sirit, an IBM business partner for WebSphere RFID solutions, ensures the device agent supports integration between the INfinity 510 and IBM's WebSphere RFID Premises Server. Using built-in business logic and building upon a services oriented architecture (SOA) foundation, the IBM WebSphere RFID Premises Server integrates raw data with enterprise applications such as ERP or billing systems, enabling new business insights that drive business process transformation.

"Through the IBM WebSphere RFID device validation program, device manufacturers can validate interoperability with IBM's WebSphere RFID software," said Chuck Linton, WebSphere RFID business development executive, IBM. "To date, eight IBM Business Partners have been validated through the program, and we are pleased to have Sirit in this group."

The INfinity 510 has received accolades for its outstanding performance such as the top-rated RFID reader in the recent ODIN technologies' European Reader Benchmark Test report. In addition, METRO Group, the largest retailer in Germany, performed extensive reader testing and selected the INfinity 510 as its primary reader for its RFID implementation at REAL hypermarket stores across Germany. Sirit has been working closely with IBM and other partners on METRO's testing and application roll-out.

"We are pleased to announce Sirit's INfinity 510 UHF reader supports IBM's WebSphere RFID Premises Server," said Tony Sabetti, vice president, RF Solutions, Sirit Inc. "Sirit's RFID readers are well-known for their flexibility and programmability in worldwide applications. The INfinity 510 reads all EPC Gen 2 compliant tags and is backed by industry certifications of interoperability. Our high-performance INfinity 510 readers provide maximum flexibility in configuration, a user-friendly interface, along with extensive documentation."
