A: No specific version of OS/400 is required. What is required is an AS/400 ODBC driver. ODBC drivers can work with many different versions of OS/400. Contact an ODBC driver vendor for specific OS/400 version requirements for a particular driver.
IBM's Client Access for Windows includes an ODBC driver. However, this driver requires OS/400 V3R1. IBM also offered an ODBC driver for V2R3, but its ODBC driver didn't really become viable until OS/400 V3R1 and Client Access for Windows arrived.
