JobQGenie provides a new feature to capture *LDA data and Library List info.

Shield Advanced Solutions (Canada) Ltd. has announced support for *LDA data and library list collection for jobs on the job queue.

When a job is submitted to a Job Queue the OS will save the submitter's library list and *LDA data with the job information ready for when the job becomes active. This data had previously been inaccessible for the collection programs running within the JobQGenie application. Recent changes to the APIs provided with the OS have now opened up the access to this data, which will be captured and stored by JobQGenie in the same manner as other vital job information.

"We have always been able to collect the library list data when a job went into active state, but any jobs which were sitting on the Job Queue had to rely on the use of Job Descriptions to provide accurate library list information for job re-submission," says Chris Hird , Shield president. "With access to this new data we can now provide a totally seamless and unobtrusive way to ensure the job runs in the same operating environment as it should have run initially," says. "This is a big improvement for us and one which our customers have been asking about for a long time. The *LDA data area content is used in some applications for passing in user data to the programs. Not having this data meant that those jobs which relied on this data would not function correctly."

The new functionality is provided via a PTF which is available for download from our website – www.shieldadvanced.ca. As always, Shield’s products are available online for a 30-day free trial.
