New version adds support for IBM i 6.1, 7.1 and VIOS, plus enhanced remote data replication.

Tributary Systems, Inc., an IBM OEM, ISV, zDeveloper and storage solutions provider, is releasing V3.04 of its Storage Director backup virtualization software which runs on IBM System x servers with IBM DS disk arrays, IBM tape drives and libraries for IBM midrange systems.

“Available now, V3.04 of Storage Director adds support for IBM i v6.1 and v7.1, and VIOS (Virtual I/O Server),” said Ed Ahl, director of Business Development for Tributary Systems, Inc.. “We have also added enhanced data replication to reduce network latency during remote backup operations," Ahl said adding that he suggests to users that they, "Put your data on your WAN, not a van!”

Tributary Systems exhibited at the recent COMMON 2012 Annual Meeting and Exposition held at the Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, California, earlier this month.
