Golden Bridge Awards recognize company in two categories.

Nexsan, a provider of disk-based storage systems, has been recognized for the company’s E-Series storage systems which were named Best Green IT Technology and also Best Storage Hardware. Awards were presented at the Golden Bridge Business Awards in New York City, created to honor the achievements and contributions of organizations and businesses in their respective fields.

The annual awards program has active participation from a broad spectrum of industry voices. The Golden Bridge Awards program encompasses the world’s best in organizational performance, products, services, executives, innovations, case studies, product management, and customer satisfaction programs, and it covers every major industry. This year, Nexsan was recognized for the company’s E-Series storage systems featuring innovative power management for exceptional energy efficiency.

In most enterprise-class storage systems today, volumes of disk drives rotate continuously, requiring significant power and cooling. Nexsan E-Series storage systems reduce power requirements up to 85 percent using AutoMAID (Automatic Massive Array of Idle Disks) energy saving technology which in turn lowers data center cooling requirements. AutoMAID transparently places disk drives into different idle states depending on application requirements. The power management technology is user selectable, enabling users to determine the right level of response time performance to energy savings, so that maximum energy savings are achieved without impacting workflow.

“Most companies strive to deliver the best products and services to their customers. When they listen to customers, they are able to build better products that address real world challenges,” said San Madan, executive editor, Golden Bridge Awards. “This building of bridges connects companies to their customers. These bridges turn to gold when the connection is mutually advantageous.”

Nexsan E-Series storage systems deliver industry-leading density and energy efficiency, upping the ante over previous generations, the company says. Included are the E18 and E60 which reduce energy requirements up to 85 percent, making them the most power efficient, enterprise-class storage systems on the market, says Nexsan. The E18 delivers enterprise-class, high density, high performance SAS/SATA/SSD storage that is ideal for transactional applications and virtualized environments using Windows, Linux, VMware, Xen or Hyper-V. The E60 delivers enterprise-class, high density, high performance SATA/SAS/SSD storage with up to 180TB in a 4U form factor, ideal for backup to disk or bulk data applications.

“The ecological and economic advantages of green technology play an important role in the development of our products, from the design of our chassis to the selection of components we use,” said Victoria Grey, senior vice president, Marketing, Nexsan. “While E-Series storage systems help reduce an organization’s carbon footprint, they also lower IT operational costs which is a win for the environment and business.”
