ATTO Technology, a leader in storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, today announced the release of the industry's first 16-port 6GB/sec SAS/SATA host adapters. The announcement pertains to ATTO's addition of the ExpressSAS H60F and H6F0 and the 4-internal/4-external port ExpressSAS H644 to its existing family of 6GB/sec SAS/SATA host adapters. The H60F, H6F0 and H644 deliver throughput of up to 600MB/s per port with the flexibility to connect to SAS, SAS2.0, SATA and SATA II devices. All are currently available to ATTO's network of OEM clients.

An expansion of ATTO's ExpressSAS 6GB/sec SAS/SATA host adapter product line, the H60F, H6F0 and H644 provide the fastest available connection to SAS/SATA storage in Windows, Mac, and Linux environments, the company says. The ExpressSAS H60F and H6F0 feature a unique two-host-adapters-in-one architecture with two independent controllers delivering 16 lanes of connectivity to achieve approximately 60 percent faster performance than competitive offerings. The H60F, H6F0 and H644 all support up to 256 physical devices and are backwards compatible with 3GB/sec SAS and SATA devices.

The H60F, H6F0 and H644 host adapters combine x8 PCIe technology, SAS speeds and ATTO's exclusive Advanced Data Streaming (ADS) Technology to provide a cost-effective, direct-attached solution for high-performance IT and digital media applications. To achieve optimal performance in high-bandwidth environments, ATTO combines hardware and software elements to effectively manage latencies and control the acceleration of data transfers. This distinctive intelligence provides the fastest and most efficient performance for SAS/SATA systems with reduced I/O bottlenecks, the company says.
