Zebra Technologies Corporation, a global leader of on-demand printing solutions for business improvement, today announced the expansion of its leading portfolio of mobile network management tools by integrating support for Symbol Technologies Inc.'s Mobility Services Platform (MSP) on its QL Plus and RW series mobile printers. Zebra is the first to offer support for this network management tool on mobile printers, giving users of Symbol's MSP the ability to centrally monitor, update and troubleshoot their entire enterprise mobility network, including rugged Zebra printers, for a lower total cost of ownership (TCO).

"With the power of Symbol's MSP, customers can easily and remotely deploy and upgrade supported Zebra mobile printers, regardless of their physical location," said Bob Danahy, director of global mobile and wireless technologies at Zebra. "IT staffs get near real-time visibility into mobile device metrics, allowing for on-the-spot notification of network issues that results in quick and easy problem resolution. Central access into all network devices also makes new firmware upgrades and management of operations systems seamless."

Symbol's MSP agent is a highly scalable solution capable of managing mobile devices at one location or managing thousands of devices spread across a global network. By streamlining the process for deploying new devices and updating and repairing existing units, organizations benefit from a lower TCO for their mobile technology and increased efficiencies in their mobile workforce.

Symbol's MSP agent is available on Zebra's line of QL Plus and RW series printers. Zebra's versatile portfolio of printer management tools also includes ZebraNet Bridge Enterprise, ZebraNet(TM) Utilities and Zebra Print Server MIB.
