Eaton announced that the Eaton 9130 uninterruptible power system (UPS) was awarded the 2008 "Product of the Year Award" from Unified Communications magazine. Designed to meet the dynamic demands of integrated communications such as instant messaging, e-mail, voice and video, the new 700 to 3000 VA UPS models are the ideal power protection solution for the complexities of unified communications (UC). The 9130 was also honored with Internet Telephony's "Product of the Year" award in January.

"Unified Communications magazine bestows its Product of the Year Award on companies that have demonstrated excellence in technological advancement and application refinements. These winners have demonstrated to the editors of Unified Communications that their products or services have gone the extra mile to help improve both the customer experience and the return on investment (ROI) for the companies that use them," said Rich Tehrani, TMC president and group editor-in-chief of Unified Communications.

"We're very pleased to be recognized by Unified Communications  as the 9130 UPS was designed to meet the many challenges of protecting today's unified communication systems," said Hervé Tardy, vice president and general manager, Eaton Distributed Power Quality Business Unit.  "Unified communications capabilities are transforming business processes by facilitating on-the-go, always-available style of communication which demands always-on availability. Customers find that the Eaton 9130 not only offers smart and cost-saving energy management, but also provides the highest level of power protection that today's integrated communications require."

Winners of 2008 Product of the Year Awards were featured in the March/April 2009 issue of Unified Communications magazine, www.uc-mag.com. Launched in July 2007, Unified Communications is the first and perhaps the only publication dedicated to educating readers on why and how to deploy UC solutions.
