COMMON announced today that nominations are now being taken for the fourth annual joint COMMON/IBM i5/OS Innovation Awards open to any organization that uses i5/OS. The deadline for entries is 5 p.m. (CST) Friday, Feb. 29.

The COMMON/IBM i5/OS Innovation Awards will recognize excellence in the following three categories:

•Small and midsized innovation (two awards) for companies with under 1,000 employees doing innovative things with i5/OS and i5/OS applications.

•Large enterprise innovation (two awards) for companies with 1,000 employees or more.

•Education excellence (one award) for the college or university providing ongoing i5/OS education that has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the i5/OS community.

A committee of representatives from both COMMON and IBM will select the award recipients. Each winner will receive an engraved Tiffany crystal trophy, a complimentary one-year membership to COMMON, up to five complimentary registrations to COMMON's 2009 annual meeting and exposition, one complimentary registration to the COMMON IT executive conference, and feature articles in both COMMON CONNECT and IBM Systems magazines.

The COMMON/IBM i5/OS Innovation Award winners will be honored at COMMON's 2008 Annual Meeting and Exposition in Nashville, Tenn. (March 30-April 4) during the opening session. For more information about that meeting, visit http://www.common.org/annualmeeting.
