Company continues its ongoing commitment and adherence to industry standards.

Connectria Hosting, a global managed hosting provider, has announced it has achieved SSAE 16 Type II certification for all of its datacenters.

SSAE 16 is a new standard designed to replace SAS 70. Both are internationally recognized auditing standards developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and represent that a service organization has been through an in-depth audit of their control activities, which includes controls over information technology and related processes. SSAE 16 is intended to create a more global, unified standard by more closely aligning the U.S. with international standards.

For companies evaluating hosting providers, SAS 70 and SSAE 16 certifications are a strong benchmark and indicator of established, credible service providers, according to Connectria. It is also important to note, says the company, that not all certification claims are alike. Many other hosting providers claim to be certified, however may only be certified in certain processes, such as sales order and billing, or processes unrelated to actual hosting services and infrastructure.

Connectria’s SSAE 16 certification includes adherence to standards regarding the security of its hosting environment as well as the effectiveness of its support processes. According to Rich Waidmann, Connectria president and CEO, "Connectria is proud to continue our long-term commitment toward adherence of standards that ultimately aid in better safeguarding our customer’s data. We’re delighted to achieve SSAE 16 certification and will remain steadfast in our adherence to evolving standards."
