Company reduces pricing on disk management software while announcing agreement with Pickett Computer Services of Sydney.

S4i Systems (www.s4isystems.com) has announced reduced pricing for the firm's disk management software for the month of January and also revealed an agreement to partner with systems management specialist Picket Computer Services of Sydney, Australia.

About the price reduction, Susanne States, S4i’s director of sales and client services, says, “It’s our way of giving back to the IBM i customer that has supported the platform over the years.”

“iSeries shops find the Chart module especially valuable in forecasting, something everyone does in January,” States continues. “Users simply enter the number of days forward they want the disk utilization forecast to address, and S4i’s product will predict future capacity requirements based on current growth trends.”

Promotion pricing is $2010 per system serial number for any one of the three DASD-plus modules. Products included in the promotion are DASD-Plus, DASD-Plus Alert and DASD-Plus Chart.  DASD-Plus focuses on diagnostics, analytics, reporting for disk, including iASP. System i shops with S4i’s suite can monitor disk resources with automatic and continuous disk spike monitoring, IFS management, cleanup, file reorganizations, and management of temp files. With real time-spike detection and graphical displays available, DASD-Plus is the perfect addition to the System i user’s arsenal of tools, the company says.

In this limited time offer, orders must be invoiced by midnight January 31, 2010.  For more information visit www.s4isystems.com/diskmanagement

Partnership with Pickett Computer Services

S4i also announced in January a new partnership with Pickett Computer Services, a company based in Sydney, Australia, that specializes in systems management for IBM’s System i. The firm currently services customers throughout Australia and New Zealand, as well as Asia.  David Pickett is the company’s managing director and principal consultant.  He worked for 21 years with IBM, including a two-year assignment in Rochester, MN, that coincided with the launch of the AS/400.

“I really look forward to working with S4i. The company has an excellent reputation and their DASD-plus suite has strong synergy with our customer set,” says Pickett. “Together we should be able to help many customers in Australasia squeeze the most out of their valuable DASD investment.”

“We are very pleased to partner with David and his team to serve customers who need expert analysis, performance and optimization,” said Jen Halverson, S4i’s channel director. “Combining the expertise of PCS with S4i’s software provides high value to the IBM System i market in Australia and Oceania.”
