Relocation said to strengthen SafeData's high availability and data recovery services.

SafeData, LLC, a technology company focused on helping companies protect their data, minimize downtime and recovering and restore data quickly, today announced that it has moved its Boston data center to the SAVVIS BO3 Internet Data Center in Waltham, Mass.  The new location is SAS 70 Type II certified, offers enhanced power management capabilities and provides SafeData with the capacity for future growth.

"The power infrastructure, communications capabilities and the data center's SAS 70 Type II designation were significant factors in selecting the new location," explained Peter Briggs, president of SafeData.  "The SAS 70 certification guarantees that the proper internal controls are in place to ensure the reliable, high availability of our clients' data. The center also offers 100% power redundancy, protection against environmental elements and fire detection and suppression systems.  Additionally, we feel confident that as we continue to grow our client base, the SAVVIS data center has ample room to expand with us."

SafeData/HA, the company's high availability service that provides access to a client's data within 15 minutes; and its electronic vaulting / data recovery service, SafeData/DR, that provides access to data in less than 10 hours are both delivered in SafeData's Boston carrier class center.

The SAVVIS BO3 Internet Data Center is a world-class facility for power management, heating/ ventilation/ air conditioning (HVAC), fire detection and suppression, seismic engineering, physical security, Tier 1 Internet connectivity and has access to SAVVIS' intelligent IP and IP MPLS network.  The facility is designed to meet the stringent demands of enterprise customers who require reliable availability to critical IT needs.  With this in mind, the BO3 Data Center was engineered to ensure that its customers' IT infrastructures reside in physically and logically secure spaces.  Furthermore, environmental conditions are tightly monitored and controlled, power is sourced by redundant utility power feeds and backed up by on-site diesel generators and the facility is staffed 24x7 by on-site personnel.
