IBM PureApplication Service Delivers Enhancements for Hybrid Connectivity and Business Continuity

IBM PureApplication Service is designed to allow clients to quickly deploy and manage the lifecycle of enterprise workloads in dedicated, isolated, off-premises environments, and to provide hybrid cloud capability in conjunction with IBM PureApplication System. PureApplication Service includes the same workload deployment and lifecycle management capabilities of PureApplication System:

  • Pattern engine and pattern deployment
  • Compatibility for Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Windows-based patterns
  • Autoscaling, workload monitoring, and caching
  • Advanced license management
  • Reporting, chargeback, and auditing
  • User and group management
  • Cloud resource management

 

PureApplication Service on SoftLayer enhancements:

  • Off-premises backup and restore capability allowing clients to backup content from their workload virtual machines and restore them as needed for business continuity needs.
  • Enhanced hybrid connectivity between PureApplication Service on SoftLayer and the client backend enterprise using the SoftLayer Direct Link connectivity options. This capability allows the client to plug into the SoftLayer private network with a direct link in any point of presence within SoftLayer.
  • Standard policies providing additional security to assist with denial of service protection and traffic
