Heartland Business Systems selects Asigra V9 Hybrid Cloud Backup as its core platform for managed backup strategy.

Asigra Inc., a cloud backup and recovery software provider, has partnered with Heartland Business Systems, a VAR 500 value-added reseller serving the backup and recovery needs of business customers in middle-America. Heartland has adopted the Asigra V9 Hybrid Cloud Backup and Recovery platform. The company chose the platform to give SMB and enterprise customers the flexibility of either private or public cloud backup, or a combination of the two, in a hybrid configuration.

Since 1992, Heartland Business Systems has provided technology solutions to corporate, healthcare, education, government and not-for-profit organizations. These solutions include computer networking; technology planning; Internet, data center, hosting, monitoring, security and managed services; cabling and audio/video solutions; and software consulting. Heartland’s mission is to implement technologies that will improve the profitability of every business customer they serve. In 2006, Heartland made its entry into the VAR Business 500 for its position as one of the largest solution providers in North America.

“As part of our criteria in selecting a backup software provider, we sought a managed backup solution that enabled both local and remote retention and recovery without using VPN software for connectivity and this quickly narrowed our choice to Asigra,” said Dave Cummings, systems engineer for Heartland Business Systems. “Asigra’s platform is very impressive and makes the process of delivering cloud backup very manageable from an administrative point of view. Asigra eliminates the need for multiple backup point products, providing a comprehensive backup approach that protects the widest range of platforms and applications across a distributed environment. Also valuable was the software’s ability to provide end users with full control of the recovery process should data loss occur.”

“We reviewed a number of the leading solutions designed for providing backup as a service but they lacked the features and flexibility required for the customers we serve. Asigra has powerful, yet efficient technology that is very manageable and can be configured to meet the varied business requirements of a wide range of customers,” continued Cummings. “The Asigra platform allows us to offer a very competitive backup and disaster recovery offering that reduces customer backup concerns, allowing them to focus on other strategic initiatives.”

“Heartland’s adoption of Asigra Cloud Backup as the core platform for its extensive customer base is another in a long line of partner validations. VARs such as Heartland turn to Asigra for our channel-friendly business model and the flexibility, efficiency and ease-of-use of our software,” said Eran Farajun, executive vice president of Asigra. "We look forward to a long term relationship in helping Heartland address companies’ needs for optimal and cost-effective backup.”

About Asigra9 Hybrid Cloud Backup and Recovery

Reducing capital and operational costs while optimizing IT environments with high-performance hardware and software solutions remains a high priority among organizations. Asigra V9 Cloud Backup software directly addresses cost concerns with an architecture that uses data reducing ingestion and sophisticated global de-duplication to reduce storage under management and increase efficiency. Customers can use Asigra software as part of services provided by a third party or they can purchase and deploy it in their own private cloud. Asigra software provides the flexibility to alternate between these two approaches without requiring the installation of any software on backup targets.

Asigra Hybrid Cloud Backup software ingests less data by eliminating non-essential and persistent data at the source and includes tools that allow users to analyze the entire concentration of data on the network for the generation of reports that identify storage inefficiencies like stale or redundant data. The backup and recovery offering provides a smart and affordable approach to backup transformation, helping customers to buy less, manage less, and maintain less – it is a multi-site license and does not require any agents to be purchased or installed on the existing or newly added systems under protection. Instead, Asigra reaches out over the network to perform agentless backup of all leading physical and virtual operating systems, applications, and databases, using industry standard protocols and programming interfaces.
