Arpeggio Software, a provider of secure cloud connectors for the IBM i announced the release of its newest secure cloud integration software called ARP-DROP. ARP-DROP is the first product certified by Dropbox that runs on the IBM i and provides organizations with a native software solution to automate and manage sending, receiving and synchronizing files, objects and encrypted backups on Dropbox.

"Over the past few years there has been a proliferation of cloud based file sharing services and there hasn’t been an easy to use tool that allows IBM i users to fully participate in this movement." states Richard Brown, CEO of Arpeggio Software. He adds, "Clearly Dropbox is the most popular solution in this market especially as it relates to mobile devices and tablets. With ARP-DROP, IBM i users now have easy access to a whole new way of securely managing and sharing data.”

In its initial testing ARP-DROP was used in many collaborative activities including sharing excess inventory reports with customers and collecting work order updates from field technicians. It has also been used in conjunction with ARP-SAVE to encrypt and manage IBM i data backups via Dropbox with great success.

ARP-DROP lets you create automated processes to:

  • Manage files and folders on Dropbox
  • Securely share data with employees and partners
  • Synchronize files and folders between your IBM i and Dropbox
  • Save and restore encrypted backups on Dropbox

ARP-DROP is a totally native solution for the IBM i and does not require any third party tools or PASE to operate. ARP-DROP is available in a free version and an enterprise version.   A free version is available for downloading at www.arpeggiosoftware.com/arpdrop.
