Maxava, a global leader in IBM i high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) software, today announced the launch of its popular maxView
performance monitoring application in HTML5 for enhanced usability and real-time management of IBM i functionality, including edit, change and run commands while on-the-go.
Maxava beta-tested the company’s latest maxView version with a select group of Maxava HA customers to ensure the robustness and ease of use met the needs of a demanding enterprise-scale IBM i environment. With a host of push notifications available, maxView Manager now includes the ability to color-code alert categories. The App also now delivers the added flexibility to set specific alert thresholds or exclude individual configurations from an alert. This allows users to, for example, separate a test configuration from other data. Auto-refresh timing can also be set to suit the user or the operating environment.
Commenting on Maxava’s latest version of the maxView suite of mobile tools, Peter Kania, Maxava Technical Services and Development Director, said, “Maxava’s latest version of maxView is a further example of how we’re committed to providing Maxava customers with the smartest, easiest to use tools that enhance the functionality of the Maxava HA/DR suite by delivering quick and easy monitoring. We also provide the unmatched ability to control complex commands whenever and wherever required – even the capability to activate a role-swap from a handheld device.”
With a reworked activity dashboard, maxView offers a fast-path to view, with drill-down menus for reviewing more detailed information around replication, Maxava configurations and a variety of system-focused statistics and enhanced WRKACTJOB.
Maxava’s maxView Manager in HTML5 for tablets and smartphones is now available for Maxava customers and is integral to the Maxava Enterprise + HA/DR suite. The application is also available in other formats for PC, tablet and hand-held devices, and a simplified maxView “Lite” version for basic monitoring on iPad or iPhone can be downloaded for free from the App store.
