Shield Advanced Solutions, leading providers of High Availability software, today released PTF05 for JQG4i Version 5 Release 1. JQG4i formerly known as Job Queue Genie is the premier solution for capturing the content of IBM i job queues as the submitted jobs run through their life cycle. The latest PTF05 has provided a number of important and useful improvements for users.

“One major update is the ability to store data for JQG4i in an iASP on the target. This is particularly important for those that want to use JQG4i with LVLT4i, Shield’s Library Vaulting solution for the Managed Service Provider. Says Director, Chris Hird.

“The monitoring of JQG4i has been improved with a new STATUSCHK command which will run through the IBM JOBSCDE and ensure the monitoring jobs are all active and collecting information correctly. It will also verify the file content and look for damaged *DTAQ objects to ensure the notification process is working. New commands have been added to help with the clean-up of orphaned data, there is also some bug fixes which reduce error rates and improve job data collection.”

Latest release includes:

  • Ability to store data in an iASP on the target system
  • New monitoring commands
  • Improved notification of damaged objects
  • Ability to clean up orphaned data
  • Bug fixes
