IBM® Capacity Management Analytics V2.1.1 turns machine data to insight and provides built-in expertise in capacity management, which empowers IT infrastructure system managers, system administrators, and data center executives to optimize IT performance, availability, and scalability. Capacity Management Analytics V2.1.1 consists of an operational intelligence platform and expert-based Capacity Management Analytics application. The operational intelligence platform provides IT data ingestion, reporting, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytic engines. It includes the following products:

  • IBM Cognos® Analytics V11.0.2 1
  • IBM SPSS® Modeler Gold V17.1 1
  • IBM ILOG® CPLEX® Optimization Studio V12.6.31, 3 application
  • IBM Capacity Management Analytics Solution Installer V2.1.12, 4

 

The Capacity Management Analytics application includes:

  • IBM Capacity Management Analytics Solution Kit V2.1.1

 

New features and enhancements in Capacity Management Analytics V2.1.1:

  • Capacity Management Analytics operational intelligence platform:
    • Includes upgrade to Cognos Analytics V11.0.2
    • Includes upgrade to Modeler Gold V17.1
    • Includes upgrade to CPLEX V12.6.3
    • Adds Capacity Management Analytics Solution Installer 2.1.1
  • Capacity Management Analytics installation and configuration:
    • The Capacity Management Analytics Solution Installer provides a single web-based UI to manage and perform the installation and configuration of the following required components: Cognos, Modeler, CPLEX, and the Solution Kit modules.
    • Adds new Solution Kit installer that provides command line installation, configuration, and management of Solution Kit modules.
    • Provides Solution Kit installation instance support, thus separating user-modified data and configuration (Capacity Management Analytics Instance) from the Solution Kit executable and default configuration (Capacity Management Analytics Home); a given Capacity Management Analytics Home can be used to create and support multiple Capacity Management Analytics instances within the same installation system.
  • Capacity Management Analytics Systems Management Module:
    • Improved performance of data extractions and transformation (ETL)

 

Beginning with Capacity Management Analytics V2.1.1, Capacity Management Analytics will no longer be provided on physical media. All future versions, releases, and modifications will be available by electronic download only.

Capacity Management Analytics Solution Installer uses open source components like Chef and various others. Refer to the IBM Capacity Management Analytics 2.1.1 License Information document for any restrictions that may impose.

CPLEX usage in Capacity Management Analytics is limited to less than 1,000 variables. Additional licenses must be purchased if the number of variables used exceeds 1,000.
