Vormittag Associates (VAI) has announced a partnership with UK-based Kingfisher Associates Ltd. to extend the company's reach into the UK and European manufacturing, warehousing and distribution marketplace. This relationship will not only broaden VAI's global customer base, but it will also solidify its position as a world-class enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) vendor, the company said.

Kingfisher Associates was formed in 1988 as a software developer and consultancy for bespoke business applications running solely on the IBM Power Systems platform. A bespoke application is a software solution designed for companies when no off-the-shelf application exists. Today, the firm continues to develop tailored software solutions for small to medium-sized businesses (SMB) and larger organizations throughout the UK and parts of Europe.

Kingfisher will add VAI's S2K Enterprise Edition to its software portfolio. S2K is a comprehensive software suite that provides functionality to firms in the retail, distribution and manufacturing verticals. S2K streamlines business operations, helps firms lower inventory levels, reduce costs and improves customer service, according to the company. These benefits are offered in an affordable, flexible package that can be implemented quickly and managed easily.

Roy Mollet, business development, Kingfisher Associates, said, "This business partnership with VAI gives Kingfisher the opportunity to market a reliable and proven set of ERP and CRM applications to the UK marketplace. We believe VAI's S2K product suite will further strengthen our position in the UK SMB space where historically, competitive ERP offerings running on IBM platforms have found it hard to penetrate the mid-market due to the relatively high costs and implementation times."

Pete Zimmerman, manufacturing segment manager at VAI, said, "This relationship will provide VAI with a springboard to launch our product portfolio to new markets in Europe. This strategic move was based on Kingfisher's 20 years of experience in the industry, and proven track record of supplying and supporting a cross-industry portfolio of customers. In light of the recent economic downturn, no organization can afford to stand still in today's highly competitive market. With this new partnership, VAI and Kingfisher hope to ensure both companies long-term success and steady growth in the future."
