I.T. Modernization Firm Puts Customer Success and Employee Satisfaction First
Fresche Legacy, a leading provider of I.T. application modernization and management solutions, was recognized today as one of Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers. This honor comes just one month after being selected one of the top Montreal Employers. As a top Canadian Small and Medium Employer, Fresche offers a wide variety of benefits and flexible working conditions to its employees. For example:

Fresche encourages employees to expand their minds with generous tuition subsidies for courses at outside institutions

Along with profit sharing and share purchase plans, Fresche employees are encouraged to save with matching RRSP contributions

Fresche helps employees balance their personal and work lives with flexible work hours and telecommuting work options

At Fresche, we strive to provide programs that put our employees first, and help them to further develop their strengths and reach their full potential. Richard Yerema, Managing Editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, said that the small and medium employers chosen by the program “are showing they can compete with larger companies when it comes to creating progressive workplace benefits and forward-thinking HR policies.”

Maria Anzini, Vice President of Talent Acquisition at Fresche, commented that it was an honour to be chosen by the program. “Being selected last month as one of the Montreal’s top employers was amazing, but now to be chosen one of the greatest small and medium companies across Canada is icing on the cake. We work hard to ensure that Fresche is a place where people love coming to work – a place where everyone can make a difference, not because of a job or a title, but because of who you are. Our passion for making our Customers smile grows out of how we run the business, how we all work together as employees and our combined sense of pride. When you appreciate your employees, they like where they work, and they transmit their enthusiasm to Customers. We want this to be a place where people are happy to arrive in the morning and we work hard to make it happen."

“Some of our success comes from how we promote idea sharing and collaboration. For example, we hold regular weekly all-employee meetings where everyone has a chance to contribute. We’re always looking for ways to innovate; we know that growth is the key to employee satisfaction and we want to encourage it any way we can. We also pay attention to the small stuff: a big basket of fruit Monday morning, donuts on Friday, monthly birthday cakes and rooftop barbecues in summer. We work hard, we learn, we grow and we have fun.”

No matter where a Fresche employee is in their career, if they are enthusiastic and have something to prove, Fresche is a place where they can make a significant contribution – no matter where they are located.

This past year has been a stimulating one for Fresche. In September 2014, the company merged with looksoftware, an Australian organization that specializes in UI modernization for the IBM i platform. Combined, the merged companies allow customers to satisfy all their legacy modernization and management needs in one place. Fresche makes employee communication a priority worldwide.  As a global company with offices in Canada, the USA, India and Australia, Fresche employees work together as if they are all in the same location.

“We have been chosen a Montreal Top Employer and one of Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers, but our benefits and philosophy extend worldwide to all of our Fresche Legacy offices,” explained Anzini “Our diversified cultures around the world are a vital part of our success.”

About Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers Program
Now entering its third year, Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers recognizes SMEs with exceptional workplaces and forward-thinking human resource policies.  Employers are evaluated on the same eight criteria as the larger Canada’s Top 100 Employers project: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.  To determine eligibility, the Top 100 editors follow the SME definition used by Statistics Canada, limiting the competition to private-sector companies with under 500 employees.
