Announcement marks a major step in company's strategy to automate log and compliance reporting for IBM Power Systems and other virtualized environments.

Safestone Technologies, supplier of IBM Power Systems security and compliance solutions, has announced the release of Compliance Center for Linux establishing the company as the only provider to offer a multi-platform compliance security solution for IBM Power Systems.

The streamlined log management and compliance reporting tool for AIX was launched last fall, and the addition of the Linux platform (RedHat Enterprise Linux and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server) completes Safestone’s multi-platform compliance security solution across IBM Power Systems operating systems.

The company notes that organizations today are faced with tightened budgets and reduced staff, yet the demands of compliance regulations and audits remain constant. Cost and time-saving measures are essential, but can often leave organizations with compromised security.

Automation of log reporting is the key to ensuring compliance standards are met while upholding company security policies. Compliance Center for Power automates the way organizations can manage their security policies to comply with numerous external regulations and industry mandates.

“Releasing a Linux version of Compliance Center now completes Safestone’s full Power offering," says Alia Ali, chief executive officer of Safestone. "It is a major step in our strategy of automating log and compliance reporting for IBM Power Systems and other virtualized environments. Our customers demand full visibility across their Power Systems and to be able to assess compliance and security risks from a single point.”

Safestone’s Compliance Center for Linux is a powerful and flexible query-based reporting solution which simplifies the task of collecting and converting a vast array of audit, compliance and security data into compliance reports.

Benefits of Compliance Center include:

  • User-friendly interface—it can be used by administrators, executives, auditors or virtually anyone in the organization tasked with managing security and compliance reporting.
  • With it a user can easily monitor such things as network access (FTP, ODBC, SQL etc), user profiles, file permissions, and many other areas.
  • Report automation—Compliance Center can schedule reports across all IBM Power Systems and partitions from a single user interface.

Safestone is the only provider to have launched multi-platform compliance security solutions for IBM Power Systems, according to the company.

Businesses operating in today’s dynamic economies are subject to increasing compliance regulations (Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI DSS, Basel II, HIPAA) and information security standards (ISO27002, CobiT). As a result, organizations are looking for a software solution to manage security and compliance across complex IBM Power Systems operating environments. Partner of choice for organizations with the most stringent security and compliance requirements, Safestone provides the most comprehensive solution in IBM i and AIX security to over 700 blue-chip customers worldwide. The module-based solutions are flexible, scalable, easy to implement and use, allowing the solution to address all varying degrees of audit, compliance and security requirements. Safestone has built up a global network over more than 21 years, providing localized sales, consultancy and professional services to help organizations manage all their IBM Power System security requirements.
