Safestone Technologies, a supplier of System i security and compliance solutions, has announced the release of a new log management and compliance reporting tool for IBM Power Systems.

Compliance Center for i automates the way organizations can manage their security policies for compliance with the numerous external regulations and industry mandates. It has been developed for the IBM i, AIX and Linux platforms. Compliance Center for i is available now and the release will soon be followed with versions for AIX and Linux.

Effective management of log data is essential to reducing the cost and complexity associated with demonstrating a security process. Automation of log management allows businesses to cost-effectively collect, normalize, and report on security data which is necessary for compliance.

"Compliance Center has been developed to help organizations who are striving to achieve compliance with regulations and standards, all of which specify the need for robust log management and storage," says Terry Heath, chief operating officer of Safestone, "As well as driving down the costs associated with delivering IT compliance reporting, Compliance Center enables fast and efficient forensic analysis for effective threat management."

Compliance Center for i (CCi) simplifies the task of log management by compiling compliance and security events from the System i and standardizing all the collected data. Its powerful query based wizard allows reports to be tailored to an organization's specific requirements.

Benefits of CCi include:

  • User-friendly interface: It can be used by administrators, executives, auditors or virtually anyone in the organization who is tasked with managing security compliance events.
  • Ability to easily monitor: Heavy users, object authorities, network access (FTP, ODBC, SQL etc), user profiles plus many more.
  • Report automation: Schedule reports across all IBM Power Systems and partitions from a single user interface.
