Azul Systems, the award-winning leader in Java runtime scalability, today entered into an OEM partnership with evolphin Software, Inc., the leader in digital asset management and workflow. Through this partnership, evolphin will integrate Azul's Zing with its Zoom digital asset management (DAM) platform, resulting in the industry's best-performing and most scalable enterprise-class DAM solution available today.

The Azul-evolphin alliance addresses the performance and scalability challenges in DAM by leveraging the strengths of the companies' respective technologies. Uniquely designed to support unstructured digital assets, the evolphin Zoom platform manages the creative process with the industry's first high-performance digital asset management database.

Azul Zing is the new Java performance standard, and is designed to meet the demands of the real-time business. Specifically used for enterprise applications and workloads that require any combination of large in-memory data stores, high transaction rates, low latency, consistent response times or high sustained throughput, Zing delivers highly consistent performance across a wide range of workloads. Together, the combined technologies offer an ideal alternative to the inherent performance and scalability limitations typically encountered by entertainment, broadcasting and advertising organizations that use RDBMS database technology running with other conventional JVMs.

"Benchmark tests reveal that the evolphin-Azul combination not only enables evolphin to support hundreds of thousands of transactions per second, but it can also support 100,000 users simultaneously," said Rahul Bhargava, founder and chief technology officer of evolphin Software. "Only through this unique partnership with Azul will users be able to reach this level of performance and scalability."

Fast-moving media, entertainment, broadcasting and advertising organizations require immediate access to their large, digital files — regardless of how many users initiate transactions at once. Unfortunately, other JVMs cannot overcome the performance and scalability bottlenecks inherent to these demanding environments. In fact, with conventional JVMs, DAM systems can max out at only 300 simultaneous users, which is less than 1% of what is possible with the evolphin-Azul combination. As a result, the creative process is impacted, costing companies dearly in time and productivity.

"Azul is well-versed in helping to solve the performance and scalability issues inherent in today's real-time businesses," said Scott Sellers, President and CEO of Azul Systems. "Working together, evolphin Zoom and Azul Zing set a new standard in performance and scalability in digital asset management."

The Zoom digital asset management platform integrated with Azul's Zing is available immediately. For more information on evolphin's Zoom, please visit www.evolphin.com. For additional information on Azul's Zing, please visit www.azulsystems.com.

Azul Systems delivers high performance and elastic Java Virtual Machines (JVMs) with unsurpassed scalability, manageability, and production-time visibility. Designed and optimized for x86 servers and enterprise-class workloads, Azul’s Zing JVM is the only Java runtime that supports highly consistent and pauseless execution for throughput-intensive and QoS-sensitive Java applications. Azul’s products enable organizations to dramatically simplify Java deployments with fewer instances, greater response time consistency, and dramatically better operating costs.
