Enhancements in IBM Mobile Foundation V5.0.6 and IBM Worklight V5.0.6 include advances in security features and operational efficiency that build on the capabilities already delivered by IBM Mobile Foundation and IBM Worklight.
IBM Mobile Foundation V5.0.6 is a family of products that consists of IBM Worklight V5.0.6, IBM EndPoint Manager for mobile device management, and IBM WebSphere Cast Iron for connectivity. Together, they deliver an open, comprehensive, and advanced mobile application platform for smartphones and tablets. IBM Mobile Foundation is designed to enable organizations of all sizes to extend their business by efficiently implementing, connecting, securing, and managing HTML5, hybrid, and native mobile applications.
New in IBM Worklight V5.0.6:
- Updated mobile OS support (including iOS 6.1, Android 4.2, BlackBerry 7.1 and 10, Windows 8, Windows RT, and Windows Phone 8), IPv6 support, and expanded mobile OS support for Blackberry in the private application store. This support is intended to help developers and businesses deliver on the latest mobile environments.
- Security capabilities designed to help developers, chief information security officers, and businesses protect their mobile solutions. This includes support for separate SSL certificates per HTTP adapters for easier integration with SSO solutions, a new device-side SSO to simplify authentication across multiple mobile applications on a single device, and default security configuration compliance with the NIST United States Government Configuration Baseline initiative.
- IBM Mobile Application Platform Pattern, which deploys the Worklight Server on IBM PureApplication System for Power and Intel. It enables administrators and businesses to respond quickly to changes in the business by taking advantage of on-premises Cloud technologies. This approach helps save IT resources by simplifying deployment and improving operational efficiency to cope with increased mobile demand. The demand accelerates the iteration of solutions that exceed traditional demand cycles. Deploying the IBM Mobile Application Platform Pattern on IBM PureApplication System also enables access to best practices and built-in expertise, such as built-in scaling policies.
As part of the IBM mobile platform, Worklight can be integrated with complementary application lifecycle, security, management, and analytics capabilities to help you address the unique mobile needs of your business.
