Heres a rumor for you. To compensate for Integrated Netfinity Server for AS/400 (INSA) limitations, IBM is currently working on integrating standalone IBM Netfinity servers with the AS/400 at the bus level. This integration may be accomplished by directly attaching Netfinity servers to an AS/400 through a special cable. The standalone Netfinity server would retain the systems management and disk consolidation capabilities of the INSA (including using AS/400 commands, DASD, CD-ROM, and tape drives for its own processing). If implemented, this technology could be available in 12 to 18 months and may support both Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000.
