Integrated Custom Software, Inc. has announced the latest release of FormSprint laser forms generation and document management software that features significant modifications to the Archiver Database Module.

The modifications were based on user feedback and include the assignment of search parameter names when the database is first created. Also, the output form type, defined in the form definition, is carried through in the archive document printing. PDF files can be created from retrieved archive files simply with the press of a function key.

Also in the new release is support for the US Postal Service 4-State or Intelligent Mail Barcode. The Intelligent Mail Barcode allows the user to uniquely identify the sender and the mail piece. It will also provide a destination zip code for sorting and routing as well as encode special service indicators and address change service requests.

The new release expands the extract functions to include the user defined data area of the spool file. This can be populated with up to 200 characters making it much more flexible than the 10-character user data field.

About ICS and FormSprint

Since 1985, ICS has been helping customers improve their operations. Its software and services help modernize the output of invoices, purchase orders, checks, statements, reports, and other business forms. The System i-based FormSprint software excels in performance, flexibility, and support, the company says, and gives users control over standard application program output to tailor it to business requirements without expensive program modifications. FormSprint reduces costs by eliminating cumbersome, expensive, preprinted forms and saves time by automatically delivering professional-looking forms where they are needed via print, fax, or email. Integrated Custom Software began operations in 1985. Since then it has developed and marketed accounting packages, a user-definable data base package, a manufacturing job management package and other software packages including custom applications. ICS has offered FormSprint on the AS/400, now IBM i on Power Systems, since 1992 and has over 1,000 users representing most areas of commercial enterprise as well as government entities such as cities, counties, and school districts. The company's software reflects the company name, Integrated Custom Software. It produces fully integrated packages, not collections of utilities.ICS customizes its "off-the-shelf" packages and it produces specialized, totally unique packages to meet specific customer requirements. Programming efficiency and reliability is obtained by using ICS-developed programming tools and subroutines to provide highly structured, nonredundant processing. The result is rapid turn-around time for the development of new features or the correction of quality defects. When you call ICS, you talk to a person, not a machine. The goal is to provide outstanding technical support. That means everyone doing their best to answer your questions or solve your problems as quickly as possible, whether it appears to be an ICS product problem or not. Products constantly evolve in response to customer requests and technology changes. General software upgrades are released at least once a year to all customers with current support contracts.
