IBM champion and PHP guru Mike Pavlak joins the Fresche IT Strategy team while Amy Anderson becomes Director of North American Ecosystems.

Fresche Solutions, a leading provider of IBM i application management and modernization solutions, recently announced that Mike Pavlak and Amy Anderson have joined Fresche. Mr. Pavlak joins the IT Strategy team as a senior IBM i strategist to help clients choose modernization strategies, and Ms. Anderson takes on managing and growing a robust, diverse partner ecosystem that includes all types of service providers, resellers, ISVs, SIs, consultants and thought leaders in North America.

Fresche’s explosive growth over the past few years has resulted in numerous client demands for end-to-end Power platform and IBM i services, including IT strategy, UI modernization, staff augmentation, skillset replacement, code transformation, application support and more. Mr. Pavlak will help Fresche’s IT Strategy team guide these clients to a customized path that supports their current business needs and readies them for the future. At the same time, under Ms. Anderson’s direction, partners of all types will continue to provide IBM i customers with easy access to Fresche’s modernization and management solutions to help align IT with evolving business needs and ensure growth.

“We are absolutely thrilled and honored to have Amy and Mike join the Fresche team,” said Andy Kulakowski, President and CEO of Fresche. “Our partner ecosystem is growing rapidly, and it’s touching an ever-growing customer base. We need experienced partner specialists like Amy and senior strategists like Mike to ensure that our solutions reach the full range of IBM i clients, and that those clients have the support they need to decide how best to manage and modernize their IBM i environment to support business growth. Amy’s experience with IBM partner networks will be vital to our operations, and Mike’s arrival is a major development for our clients – he’ll help them analyze their situation, understand their options and map out a course of action. He’ll also help us internally as we ramp up to provide even more planning and strategy services.”

Ms. Anderson is an IBM i professional who spent more than twenty years at IBM Rochester working with different types of partners and helping IBM develop a new partner program built around cloud technology. Later, at Zend Technologies, Ms. Anderson helped the company grow revenue in conjunction with IBM and major cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services. After Zend’s acquisition by Rogue Wave Software, Ms. Anderson focused on partnerships related to promotion of open source software. She has contributed to blogs and podcasts and is highly active nurturing Rochester’s startup community.

Mr. Pavlak has wide experience with IBM systems, first with the mainframe and since 1992, with midrange solutions. He spent many years developing applications in RPG, CL and PHP before joining Tripp Lite as a solutions consultant. Most recently, Mr. Pavlak was at Zend Technologies, working as a solutions consultant with their IBM i sales team. Mr. Pavlak has written extensively on IBM i solutions, notably for IBM Systems Magazine, and as technical editor for iPro Developer and System iNEWS. He has contributed to blogs, podcasts and webinars at Zend and other organizations and is a familiar face at user groups, trade shows and industry events, leading sessions on modernization, PHP and the future of i.

“Mike Pavlak will use all of his knowledge and expertise to help our IT Strategy team guide our clients” said Fresche's Chief Commercial Officer, Robert Heroux, himself a 31-year veteran of IBM. “The demand for strategy and clear direction is more critical than ever. Many corporations are looking at major decisions about the future of their IBM i environments, and they can’t make those decisions without a clear and complete picture of their IT systems and an understanding of how they can easily be leveraged to maximize business growth. And Amy Anderson is one of the most well-known IBM i partner specialists in the world. She has extensive experience with partners of all types, from traditional resellers to cloud providers and even thought leaders. She’ll draw on all of her relationships and forge new ones to ensure that our partner ecosystem reaches every IBM i customer. We are particularly delighted by her experience with evolving trends such as cloud technology and how it relates to partners. She has everything we need to bring Fresche solutions to customers through a truly diverse partner ecosystem.”

On joining the Fresche team, Mike Pavlak says: “The length and breadth of solutions and the incredible energy of the executive team made Fresche a perfect choice for me. I love the fact that these folks understand the IBM i community. From solutions to services to support, Fresche provides a one-stop shop for any company to move forward with their modernization and new application initiatives.”

Amy Anderson says: “Fresche is the perfect place to leverage my skill set for a customer base that’s near and dear to my heart. My first priority is to reach out to North American partners of all types to find out their needs and understand how we can best work together. This is the culmination of a lot of years of experience and relationship building, and IBM i customers will be the ultimate beneficiaries as they see partner offerings enriched with new services and solutions.”

“Having Amy join the team is another great step in Fresche’s evolution. We already have strong partner relationships in North America, but the situation is shifting quickly, and having someone of Amy’s caliber is key to nurturing a truly inclusive and forward-looking partner ecosystem,” said Jennifer Fisher, Fresche’s VP of Ecosystem and Strategy.
