Free 2-day forum, hosted by IBM Champions, unites IBM i CIOs

Seiden Group and System i Developer today announce the participation of IBM i Chief Architect Steve Will in the next IBM i CIO Summit on March 19 and 20, 2018 in Dallas. On March 19, he will join a select group of CIOs from industries such as insurance, finance, and manufacturing for a private discussion on the direction of IBM i. On March 20, he will present Game On! IBM i - From Strategy to Reality and converse with attendees at meals and the evening reception.

Hosted by Alan Seiden, Susan Gantner, Jon Paris, and Paul Tuohy, the complimentary CIO Summit helps executive-level IT professionals clarify the potential of modern IBM i applications, and it provides a forum for them to exchange ideas on how to deliver quality business solutions faster.

All four sponsors of the free CIO Summit were recently named IBM Champions in recognition of their expertise and extraordinary advocacy for the IBM i community.

"In order to foster a vibrant IBM i ecosystem, we need a strong CIO community," says Alan Seiden, principal at Seiden Group. "Most CIOs rarely have the opportunity to meet in a confidential setting to talk candidly about the challenges they face and to learn what works for their peers. Offering this free event is one way for us to help the IBM i community move forward."

The first day of the CIO Summit, held in the executive boardroom at the Tower Club in Dallas, will feature open discussions - facilitated by Seiden - on topics of interest to the group. Conversation will be supplemented by brief talks on select topics such as staffing, how to attract young RPG developers, and IBM i direction.

On the optional second day, CIO guests can join their developers at the RPG & DB2 Summit free of charge. The March 20 agenda includes sessions on such topics as IBM i development strategies and direction; a roundtable discussion on Future-Proofing Your IBM i Investment with Jon Paris, Susan Gantner, Paul Tuohy, and Alan Seiden; time to network with other CIOs and Steve Will; and opportunities to socialize and brainstorm with their developers in an environment where leading development experts can answer questions on the spot.

The CIO Summit is a free, by-invitation-only event open to a limited number of CIOs or IT Directors whose IT staff includes developers. To date, half of the available seats have been reserved.
