High-performance drivers exploit IBM DB2 V9, Microsoft Windows 2008 development environment, and data scale-out features in SQL Server 2008

HiT Software has announced the newest release of a family of ODBC and OLE DB connectivity products optimized for the IBM DB2 V9 environment including IBM DB2 for z/OS, and IBM DB2 for Windows, UNIX, and Linux. HiT ODBC and OLE DB connectivity products now offer full compatibility with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008, allowing developers and programmers to capitalize on Microsoft's advanced features for data scalability and application development, making them fully available to IBM DB2 V9 systems.

"HiT Software connectivity products for IBM DB2 are specifically designed to address the complexities involved in bridging applications with both new and legacy IBM data environments," said Giacomo Lorenzin, CEO, HiT Software, Inc. "In the current business environment, organizations are demanding greater data flexibility, and this includes data movement to Windows-based applications. Our connectivity products eliminate the need for IBM DB2 technical expertise and easily make large amounts of IBM data available to custom and prepackaged applications."

"We have been using HiT Software's ODBC provider for IBM DB2 for a number of years. Our system requires reliable and high performance access to DB2 z/OS data and stored procedures. The HiT ODBC driver was easy to install and use," said Joseph Gregoire, senior systems analyst and team lead, IS Enterprise Support Services, Insurance Corporation of British Columbia. "We also appreciate HiT Software's service and support team, who respond quickly and provide key information critical to keeping our systems up and running smoothly."

HiT Software ODBC and OLEDB products are recognized for their high-performance, small footprint, security, and reliable access to DB2 data. More than a thousand users worldwide have downloaded HiT ODBC or OLEDB products to take advantage of features including:

  • Use of native IBM protocols
  • Non-invasive software installation
  • Support for secure data transmission
  • Extensive toolsets for diagnostic and monitoring activities
  • Developer editions with source code examples

HiT OLEDB products fully support Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and 2005, with features for linked servers including open query syntax, heterogeneous joins and stored procedure calls with output parameters. Both HiT ODBC and HiT OLEDB connectivity products support full SQL functionality including pooling and connection load management, stored procedures, multiple result sets, multi-threading, ODBC level 3.x conformance, error reporting and more.

HiT Software also provides heterogeneous data integration and transformation through DBMoto for data replication and Allora for XML transformation.
