Stringent tests by IBM reveal iTERA HA, MIMIX HA, and ORION Solutions run as flawlessly in a blade as in non-blade environments.

Vision Solutions announced today that its industry-leading solutions for small, mid-size and enterprise companies received official validation running on IBM's BladeCenter after extensive testing at the IBM Innovation Centers in Waltham, Mass and San Mateo, Calif. The “Ready for IBM Power Systems Software” mark assures iTERA HA, MIMIX HA and ORION Solutions for IBM i passed extremely stringent standards for compatibility and reliability.

“Our software solutions were put through an extensive battery of tests in terms of compatibility and reliability on IBM’s BladeCenter,” says Henry Martinez, Vision Solutions’ senior vice president of engineering. “Validation scenarios mirror exactly what our customers experience on a daily basis and ran as smoothly as on non-blade environments,” he says.

The Vision Solutions software was tested on Blade Center S, also designed for the mid-size market, using multiple IBM JS12 BladeServers which support IBM i, AIX and Linux environments. The BladeServers also support virtualization and Dynamic Logical Partitioning (DLPAR) capabilities. Vision Solutions’ AIX products, EchoStream and EchoCluster, are already certified on blades.

Customers who want to virtualize will benefit from Vision Solutions’ software on IBM Power Systems, according to Vision Solutions. IBM's virtualized solutions may help achieve a more “green” data center. “IBM's virtualization strategy drives better overall utilization of hardware resources, which translates into reduced system footprint, lowered energy consumption, and streamlined IT operations," says Ron Peterson, senior product strategist for Vision Solutions. "In the end, Vision specializes in keeping virtualized environments highly available.”

Tom Lawler, IBM Worldwide Business Development executive, says, “Ready for IBM Power Systems Software validation helps products stand out from the crowd while offering valuable global exposure to business partners. Validation also lets customers know there is seamless integration between Vision Solutions’ software and IBM Power Systems Software stacks,” he says.
