William (Randy) Watson and Joseph Camilli formed MPG in 1990 as an System i software development and system performance consulting group. As President, Randy Watson brought to MPG extensive sales, marketing and technical experience with such industry leaders as Storage Technology Corporation and EDS as well as his own consulting practice. Joe Camilli, with an advanced degree in Mathematics from Florida State, contributed extensive knowledge of the IBM i platform and experience with performance/c apacity planning. MPG's first development effort for IBM i arena was PM/400 which today is offered as the performance manag ement service from IBM. MPG then developed OptStor - a suite of products designed to manage System i storage with the use of IBM's 3995 Optical Library. The culmination of MPG's performance management development is Performance Navigator which is used for performance management, problem determination and capacity planning. Power Navigator is MPG's latest product offering, providing performance management and capacity planning for AIX , Linux , Solaris and HP-UX.
