On January 23, IBM announced availability of new releases of its core IBM Workplace products, including Workplace Collaboration Services 2.6, Workplace Managed Client 2.6, Workplace Forms 2.6, and Workplace Designer 2.6. The 2.6 versions of these products include more than 50 new features and functions, including enhancements to cross-platform and open standards support. Along with WebSphere Portal, the Workplace products help provide the front-end to IBM's service-oriented architecture (SOA) strategy. Read the full announcement here.
In other news on January 23, IBM provided a "sneak peak" of new features in the next major release of Notes/Domino, due out in 2007. New programs, Business Partner offerings, and platform support will extend the value of the platform, help increase productivity, and lower costs for Lotus customers and Business Partners. IBM is evolving and extending the Notes/Domino platform to include new services and functions designed to increase performance and provide customers with flexibility and more options. Moreover, customers will have a choice of multiple computing and browser platforms (including Firefox, Internet Explorer, Windows, Macintosh, and Linux) and a wide variety of upcoming support for mobile solutions.
