Are you responsible for IBM i security at your business? Are you wondering how well your security stacks up against that of your peers in other organizations? Have you dealt with auditors who don't understand System i (AS/400) security and don't have any guidelines for auditing your system? Wouldn't it be great if you could compare yourself to the rest of the industry?
The IBM i security environment is a challenge for traditional security auditors. They may understand UNIX or Windows security, but they just aren't familiar enough with IBM i security to really tell you where your security strengths and weaknesses are. To make it easier for you and your auditors, PowerTech is offering the sixth annual "State of System i Security" white paper. This white paper provides a snapshot of current industry practices and gives you the opportunity to compare your security practices to the rest of the industry's. It also offers auditors guidelines to help them correctly assess IBM i Security.
The 2009 study includes the results from 197 systems that participated in the study by running a PowerTech Security Assessment during 2008. On average, these 197 systems had 812 users and represented a variety of System i hardware models. In the six years PowerTech has been conducting this study, over 1,500 systems have been assessed, and the results are incorporated in all of the published PowerTech studies. Anyone concerned with IBM i security--including auditors, IT, and systems management--will benefit from learning how other organizations manage their security issues.
This study is available free to you. Simply click on the link to learn more about IBM i security via our white paper.
